Broughty Ferry YMCA (the YM) is a small local charity working as the heart of the community in Broughty Ferry and provide a meeting place for all groups and ages. We are open to those of all beliefs and of none.
We were founded in 1866 and therefore celebrated our 150th anniversary in 2016. We provide the facility for various groups such activities as ballet, martial arts, exercise classes, zumba, meditation, capoiera, art classes and badminton -to name only a few. In total a minimum of 400 people cross our threshold every week.
We are committed to the well being of the community in which we serve, and believe in the positive benefit of participation. With this in mind, ae run a youth club on a weekly basis and are continually striving to extend this facility to wider numbers and age groups-this work is led by volunteers. We are working in conjunction with a local school to develop a garden project which will transform a derelict piece of land into a garden run by the pupils themselves.
We strive to inspire each person we meet to nurture their body, mind and spirit, and to realise their full potential in all they do. So please visit the sites listed in the footer to find out how you can get involved and support the YMCA. We are depending on your support to keep us going.
